Key Word Transformation Exercise 6

A grammar and vocabulary exercise combined! For B1 and B2 learners.

Complete the second sentence so that the meaning is very similar to the first, using the key word in bold.

Use between two and five words, including the key word.


Do NOT change the key word at all.

Contractions (I’m, can’t, etc) count as two words

1. His German is a bit better than mine. QUITE

1. His German is a bit better than mine.

Not ONLY DOES JAMES HAVE three dogs but he also has two horses.

It IS UNUSUAL FOR the bars to be open so late in the evening.

We need to COME UP WITH some ideas for the next school play.

5. People say she is an excellent singer.

She IS SUPPOSED TO BE an excellent singer.

6. It’s a pity that Sabrina can’t come out to dinner with us.

If ONLY SABRINA COULD COME out to dinner with us!
